Dr. PZ Myers is one of the most active academics in opposing the idea and cause of Creationism and Intelligent Design and standing up for the theory of Evolution.
He is an associate professor of Biology at the University of Minnesota, Morris, and operates the fascinating and popular science blog Pharyngula:
