AgASA is meeting over summer every other week to keep the discussion going!
When: Every other Tuesday night at 6pm
Where: Arboretum Terrace: Corner of 1st Street and E Street. (In Davis Commons to the left of Borders.)
Here are the topics I have planned, but there is room for change if someone else would like to lead a discussion. Just let me know, and I’ll make it work.
June 15, 2010: Atheism and the meaning of life: Do you have a purpose? What inspires you? In other words, how, as an atheist, are you not miserable?
June 29th, 2010: How do atheists deal with death? What do you want to happen to your body when you die?
July 13th, 2010: Bibleopoly! A Christian-themed version of Monopoly.
July 27th, 2010: What are some ways in which atheists, as a group, can be more active in the community? (Matt Coker’s topic)
August 10th, 2010: Can you think of any reason outside of religion for people to practice sexual abstinence?
August 24, 2010: Are all religious people delusional? If we are wrong, and there is a God, does that make us delusional?
September 7th, 2010: Aside from whether or not a God exists, can the belief that one does be beneficial to society? Can that belief be beneficial to an individual?
September 21th, 2010: Do you plan on being part of an atheist group for the rest of your life? Will you always look for local atheists? Is being part of a local atheist community important to you?
I’m planning a camping trip for the weekend of July 16th-July 18th. It’s not finalized yet, so if you have a problem with that date please let me know I can pick another time.
